Moose Toys takes Toy of the Year 2021 among slew of wins at Grand Prix du Jouet

The Australian toy company, Moose Toys has secured a total of four wins at the 2021 Grand Prix du Jouet, the highly coveted French play awards, included the Toy of the Year 2021 accolade, fighting off strong competition from the likes of Mattel, Goliath, and VTech.

Among the multiple honours taken home by Moose Toys at this year’s event were category wins in Magic Toys, Electronic Toys for Little Live Pets, and Fighting Game Toys for its newly introduced – and biggest boys’ franchise launch to date – Akedo.

The Grand Prix du Jouet are recognised as the premiere awards within the French toys and games market, with high calibre entrants and award winners each year.

VTech also triumphed at the awards this year, where it secured five accolades across the electronic educational game, interactive toy, musical toys, circuit, and function plush categories.

Meanwhile, Goliath won three Grand Prix du Jouet in very diverse categories, including Creative Leisure for its Surprise Box Glitter Dolls, Action Game for its Xplode Reaxion dominoes, and Interactive Plush for its new mother and baby gorilla Tiki and Toko.

Clementoni took home two trophies for its robot Yoko in the Robot First Age category, and its My Garden in Greenhouse in the Scientific Game category.

Mattel’s Giant Pikachu won the Construction Game category, LEGO took home Adult Construction for its Flower Bouquet, and Spin Master secured Fashion with its Purse Purse Pets.

“We are so excited to have been recognised with four awards across three categories at this years Grand Prix du Jouet,” Said Moose Toys’ CEO, Paul Solomon.

“We are delighted to see our team’s hard work being recognised in France, a very important market where we are experiencing considerable growth. It shows that our commitment to innovation and making children happy is resonating with the industry globally.”
